Stored corn suffers approximately 30% losses due to grain borers and weevils. This study aimed to evaluate the behavior of twenty corn lines against these insect pests. Five repetitions of 150g of grains from each line were placed in contact with twenty adult insects per species in glass jars. After sixty days of confinement at 26 - 33°C and 60 to 82% Relative Humidity, the average development time, the number of individuals in F1, the damage caused, the Dobie index, the germination
However, the SEMA 3 line proved to be respectively resistant, moderately sensitive and sensitive to these insect pests. The germination rate decreased to less than 75% under the action of P. truncatus. A positive and significant correlation was observed between frass mass, first generation population and Dobie Index (DI). Considering the behavior of SEMA 3, it can be used in the prospects of improvement against insects in stocks. Keywords: Storage, Maize, Dobie index, Burkina Faso.
