Effects of compost enriched with Trichoderma harzianum on the agromorphological parameters of lettuce
in Burkina Faso. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of increasing doses (10, 20, 30 and
40 tonnes/ha) of compost enriched with a local strain SMTC-BF and a commercial strain SS of
Trichoderma harzianum on lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.) agromorphological parameters. The experimental
design is a complete randomization with 11 treatments repeated five (05) times. The results show that
compost enriched with different strains of Trichoderma improves the agromorphological parameters of
lettuce. Indeed, treatments T4 (compost at 140g/pot) and T5 (compost at 210g/pot) enriched with the
SMTC-BF strain better promote growth in height compared to the commercial SS strain. The highest
doses of compost enriched with Trichoderma (T2, T6, T9 and T10) recorded average root weights of
approximately 2 g. Regarding foliar biomass, the greatest average weight (41 g) was recorded with compost at 210g /pot enriched with the local strain SMTC-BF (T5). It is necessary to repeat the trial in the
open field in market gardening areas of the country and characterize the effect of these biofertilizers on
maintaining soil fertility.
