The Tapoa wetland is a Ramsar site with an area of 3479 ha, located in the commune
of Diapaga. The study analyzes the dynamic of land occupation units to report on the
situation of the ecosystems, this from the diachronic study of Landsat TM satellite
images of the years 1975, 1998 and 2018. The images are processed using ENVI 4.7
and ArcGis 10.3. The MEA (2005) classification and semi-directive investigations of
80 householders were used to analyze ecosystem services. The results revealed that
between 1975 and 2018, tree and shrub savannahs have been reduced in favor of crops
and water body. Provisioning and regulation services are predominant and more used
respectively by farmers (42.86 %), fruit growers (26.88 %) and fishermen (25.81 %).
Production support and cultural services are less represented in Tapoa wetland. The
annual income of 20.93 % of the users of ecosystem services is between 100,000
FCFA and 200,000 FCFA, which is used for social events and food.
