The objective of this research was to assess the level of extension and adoption of INERA's research results in the agricultural field. The aim was to identify obstacles and opportunities for good agricultural vulgarisation in Burkina Faso. Data were collected in three groups from a sample of 100 people made up of producers, researchers and extension workers. The results revealed a low rate of vulgarisation and adoption of agricultural innovations by smallholder farmers. This low uptake is mainly due to the low level of the agricultural advisory support network and research-development link on the one hand and to the non-availability of technologies (35.71%), the cost and low purchasing power of producers (20%), the lack of information (18.57%) and conservatism (15.71%) on the other hand. From the above, the creation of a synergistic action between research and extension structures with capacity building of producers and a subsidy of technologies costs is necessary. The establishment of a technical council should further improve the research and development link for the adoption of the evidence of research results.
