The aim of this study was to evaluate the anatomical and functional results of the process of the patella fractures by tension band wire in Yalgado Ouedraogo University Hospital. We conducted a descriptive crosssectional study to target over a period of seven months in Orthopedics and Traumatology service of Yalgado Ouédraogo University Hospital. Patients with patella fracture operated by this processing were included in the study. Fourteen patients including 13 men and l woman were operated .Their average age was 33 years. The technique of osteosynthesis by tension band wire was performed in ail patients. No patient had an immediate post operative complication. The consolidation period was three months in 13 patients. The main complications were constituted by a delayed union after secondary displacement associated with a stiff knee. One patient consolidated in malunion. Our functional results were excellent in 11 patients, moderate in l and poor in 2 cases. The technique of tension band wire of patellar fractures is simple, fast and reliable; practiced rigorously; it achieves very good results when the management of the fracture is early.
