Helicobacter Pylori infection and gastroduodenal diseases in Ibn Sina teaching Hospital in Rabat

Helicobacter Pylori (HP) infection is very common in worldwide. There is no doubt in its implication in gastroduodenal pathology. The aim of this study was to see the clinical and epidemiological profile of 271 patients who carried out an œsogastroduodenal endoscopy, searching the presence of HP. The infection was common in population with a global prevalence of 83.76%. The prevalence was equivalent in both sex. The infection average was higher (89.13%) in the low-income people living in power conditions. No symptom or group of symptoms taken solely was allowed to guide toward s this infection. The endoscopie aspects values were not predictable about presence or absence of HP infection. 76.27% of normal endoscopies were HP positive. The gastroduodenal ulcer disease was the most related to the infection:93.02% of duodenal ulcers and 4 out of 5 gastric ulcers (80%)were HP positive. 91.84% of endoscopie gastritis and 84.06% of dyspeptics were also infected. This study emphasized that HP infection is very common in Morocco and related to gastroduodenal ulcer disease.
