This study aimed to assess the epidemiological, clinical and para clinical aspects of viral hepatitis discover in blood donors in hyper endemic area. A prospective study was conducted from 10/18/2010 Lo 06/ 18/2011. The selection criterion was HBs antigen (HBsAg) positive after blood donation al the National Blood Transfusion Center (CNTS). Carriage prevalence of HBsAg of first-time blood donors was 7.06%.The average age of patient s was 26.3 years, ranging from 20 to 51 years. The sex ratio was 3.2. The students (42.10 %) and pupils (23.70%) wert the most represented. The majority of patients (77 .63 %) had no clinical sign. Laboratory tests and liver ultrasound were normal respectively in 89.13 % and 93.47 % of patients. The complete HBV serology highlighted an absence of viral replication stigma in 86.11 % of patients.
Viral hepatitis B fortuitously discovered in the blood donor is an asymptomatic disease. More depth explorations are still needed to determine the active character or not for a better monitoring of patients.
