The University Hospital of Bobo-Dioulasso CT has been about two years, to improve the management of emergencies. A study was conducted to evaluate the contribution of this imaging technique, after two years of practice. 854 explorations performed in emergency were retrospectively analyzed. The most common indications are: motor deficits with or without alteration of consciousness, trauma, acute abdominal pain.
We observed 257 cases of vascular ischemic and hemorrhagic, or 55.62 % of cranio-encephalic CT, the cranio-encephalic injuries such as fractures, intraparenchymal hematomas, contusions simple sub-dural hematoma and epidural were observed in 195 cases (42.20 %) fractures and dislocations of the spine, n = 35 (40,22 %), urinary lithiasis, n = 32 (44,44 %) and some various pathologies including at the digestive system.
Prescription of CT is not fully entered into our habits as the relatively high cost of the examination helps to justify his low achievement even in emergency situations.
