Abstract

The objective of this study as to measure the effets of the criteria-based audit on the management of severe preeclampsia (SPE) in the (UHYO). An evaluation based on criteria of quality management of the SPE was conducted in 2015. The main reference used was the the protocol of Obstetrics Gynecology Department of UHYO. A results analysis session helped to formulate 6 recommendations. Five those were implemented. A new assessment based on the same criteria of quality was performed 6 months. The quality of care at the first assessment was compared to that of the new assessment. The initial assessment of the quality of the management of the SPE has identified numerous shortcomings in the diagnosis, treatment and monitoring. With the implementation of the recommendations in the CBA, improvement has been obtained in respect of the management of the SPE protocol. The prognosis of SPE was also improved in the service.
