Our work consists to determine the reference values of lymphocyte subpopulations CD4 and CD8 in healthy subjects of Bobo-Dioulasso in Burkina Faso.
This is a prospective study of 220 adult healthy subjects came to Bobo-Dioulasso blood transfusion center to perform the act of blood donation. They were tested for HIV, HBV, HCV, syphilis and malaria, which are infections that can affect the values of T cells. Flow cytometry was used for counting the CD3, CD4, CD8 on a cytometer FACSCount v 1.5. We used CMIA technology for the screening of HIV, HBV, HCV and syphilis. And we used optical microscopy for the detection of bloodstream parasites.
In general, we observed a CD4 T cells average of 906 cells /µI [410-1401], a CD8 T cells average of 607 cells / µ1 [95- 1120). In women; the CD4 T cells average is 970 cells / µ1 [418- 1522), the CD8 T cells average of 596 cells / µl [69-1123). The men had the CD4 T cells average of S95 cells / µl [411-1379) and CD8 T cells average of 609 cells I µ1 [l SS-1031]. CD4 / CD8 ratio reference values are generally 1.67 [0.42-2.92) in women 1.77 [0.65-2.S9] in men and 1.65 [0.36-2.94).
The reference values of CD4 T cells and CD8 T cells obtained are quite similar to those established in other african population s. But these values also differ from results found in Germany, China, Mexico, Tanzania and Ghana.
