Abstract

Theacute small bowel strangulation of the ileum by theappendixisa very rare clinical entity. We report a case of acute mechanical bowel obstruction due to strangulation of the ileum by Appendix. The patient, aged 18 years was admitted in teaching Hospital Yalgado OUEDRAOGO of Ouagadougou for vomiting and intestinal transit stop. Radiography has upheld bowel obstruction. A laparotomy was performed.  Intraoperatively, it was discovered a strangulation of ileum by the appendix. A release of the ileum and an appendectomy were performed. The postoperative course was favorable.
