Protein S deficiency: about four cases

Abstract

The authors report four cases (one woman and three men) acquired and hereditary thrombophilie due to protein S deficiency. These patients are referred by other services of our hospital to find theirs thrombosis etiologies. Thiers’s discovery circumstances are: dead-birth, autoantibodies antiphopholipids, superficial or deep venous thrombosis, and or arterial thrombosis, and ischemic stroke. Family history is found in four cases among relatives. Among the hereditary or acquired etiologies of thrombosis associated with a bleeding disorder or its regulation the authors performed functional and antigenic free protein S deficiency. The authors discuss the difficulties of diagnosis and therapeutic management in the context of their exercise.
