Introduction: In areas facing security challenges, the closure of health facilities impacts the population’s access to healthcare. In this context, the establishment of advanced health posts often carried out without meaningful community involvement offers an alternative means of providing care. Our study aims to describe the perceptions and measure the level of satisfaction among the population regarding the Advanced Health Post (AHP) in Lerghin, in the municipality of Ouargaye.
Method:This was a descriptive and analytical cross-sectional study covering the period from October 2025 to February 2026. The study population consisted of residents aged 15 and older from the five villages covered by the AHP. The AHP is a temporary health facility consisting of medical tents. A community survey was conducted using a Kobocollect electronic form. Satisfaction levels were measured using a 5-point Likert scale. Data analysis was performed using R software. Satisfaction scores, adjusted odds ratios, and 95% confidence intervals were calculated.
Results: Of the 778 people surveyed, 70.2% have visited the AHP, 97.12% consider the AHP to be accessible, and 92.94% say that the AHP has fostered greater cohesion between internally displaced persons and host communities.
The overall satisfaction level among the public was satisfactory (97.64%). The dimensions studied were: reception (98.88%), respect (98.70%), empathy (98.70%), confidentiality (98.32%), staff competence (99.81%), cleanliness of the premises (100%), perceived quality (97.95%), waiting times (99.07%), comfort (98.70%) availability of services (99.44%), staff availability (99.81% ), availability of medications (86.22%), geographic accessibility (99.63%), financial accessibility (89.57%), temporal accessibility (99.81%), and socio-cultural accessibility (97.58%).
The occupations of shopkeepers and farmers were significantly associated with overall satisfaction among AHP users.
Conclusion: Patients are very satisfied with the healthcare services provided at the Lerghin Primary Health Care Center. However, it is essential to improve the availability of medications and make them more affordable.
