Ultrasound criteria for diagnosing mesenteric adenolymphytes in Ouagadougou (Burkina Faso)

The aim of this study was to establish the sonographic criteria for mesenteric lymphadenopathy.
It was case-control comparativ study of 244 patients including 139 cases and 105 witnesses who made an
abdominal ultrasound. The ultrasound results were collected using a data collection sheet and analyzed with
the software epi info 7.1.3.3.
The average size of the lymph in Group 1 was 6.15 ± 2.02 mm, and 4.77 ± 2.02 mm for Group 2. There's
a statistically significant difference between ganglia of more than 5 mm (p = 0.0001) and 8 mm (p =
0.001) of the two groups of patients. Seat the most represented was the right quadrant in 89,47%. There were
2.53 more or less 1.08 groups and finally they numbered 4.65 more or less 1.96.
In conclusion the criteria being established a large-scale study on a larger sample could corroborate our
findings and enable radiologists to say with certainty about these signs ultrasound diagnosis of adenolymphite
in our context and avoid or suppressed the incidence of intestinal invagination.
