De 1'indépendance à ce jour, le Nigéria a connu tellement de crises qui, non seulement ont m enacé la stabilit é politique , mais aussi ont retardé le développement de ce pays dit le « géant» de l'Afrique. Du conflit de Biafra de 1967 à 1970, en passant par les crises socio- politique s et religieuses de 1980,ju s­ qu'à la survenue des crises de l 'insécurit é depuis l'année 2000, suite aux menaces des islamistes de Boko Haram et ceux du mouvem ent MEND du Niger Delt a, le pays est encore une fois aujourd'hui confronté à des crises politique s entre les trois grandes régions .Ces crises politiques résult ent des revendicati ons régionales. Cet article a donc pour but de nou s faire réfléchir sur l es causes et les conséquences de cette guerre civile sanglante au Nigeria , afin de tirer une leçon. Une fois apprise, elle nous permettra de bien réfléchir avant de revendiquer la souveraineté régionale qu i vise la déconfiguration structu­ relle du pays. De la présentation du pays en passant par celle de la société Ibo, l'article sera articulé autour de la présentation de la guerre civile d'abord chez Ekwensi et ensuite chez d'autres roman ciers nigérians.

From Independanc e to date, Nigeria has been facing seriou s crises namely the succession of Biafra, the religious as weil as the political crises and the recentl y, the problem of insecurity as a result ofthe activities of the Niger Delta mil itants and those of the Boko Haram . R ecently also, political tensions between the three regions : North , South and East, have been so tensed that each regions calls for the decentralisation on the simple reason that it has been marginali sed. A brief history of the Nigerian civil war ( 1967-1970) and its repercussions to he lbo society in particular and to the Nigeria society in general , will help the Nigerians not only to leam a lesson from that war but aIso to think twice before they agitate for the decentralisation of the country to create the regional govemments. The article wi ll be presented in three stages:After the presentation of the Nigerian socio-political set up, as weil as the general presentation of the causes, reasons for the agitations of the war as weil as the presentation of the war in the literary works of sorne Nigerian authors, the article concludes with the identification of the consequences of the civil war to the Nigerian societies in general and to the Ibo society in particul ar.
